Huge difference

For the past couple weeks, we have been using a chore chart.  It has worked out great.  Last week, I didn't get around to making it.  When I kept getting asked, "Mom when are you going to make the chore chart?",  I knew I was caught not keeping up with my own responsibilities.  How am I suppose to teach them when I can't keep up with it on my end?  I took a few minutes to organize the front of our fridge.  The menu for next week is posted along with the chart.  I made out the grocery list for next weeks groceries.  I feel so. much. better.  What works for you?

  1. I like the idea of a chore chart. We are just starting to do all of that stuff now. What kind of age appropriate tasks are you giving them to do? I have a 7 year old and 4 year old and am always looking for ideas.

  2. The older two (12 and 10) unload the dishwasher, vacuum, wash floors, and wipe down the bathrooms. The youngest (7)dusts, sorts socks, wipes down doors and low kitchen cupboards. They rotate feeding the dog. This may sound like a lot but they only have one job a day and it usually takes at the most 10 minutes. Also, bedrooms need to stay picked up. I make a new list each week and change things around as needed. They also have Fridays off. I have found that this works out great. Thanks for asking!
